Bandeau bra with removable padding

A plain band that pulls on over the head. No wires, no straps, no hooks. Two foam cups sit in an inner pocket and lift out if you want a softer shape.

The band is a single piece of high-stretch knit with no seam through the cup, so nothing prints through a fitted top. The top and bottom edges are cut flat rather than hemmed, which is why they sit invisibly under a tube top or a strapless dress.

The fit

Choose by your cup size, not your bust measurement. Size S fits 32A to 32C and 30D. M fits 34A to 34C and 32D. L fits 36A to 36C and 34D. XL fits 38A to 38C and 36D.

Laid flat, the band measures 65 cm across the bust on a size S rising to 77 cm on an XL, with a length of 13.5 cm to 16.5 cm top to bottom. The supplier measures by hand and states a tolerance of 1 to 4 cm.

Machine wash cold at 30 degrees or below. Do not bleach. Cool iron only. Take the pads out before washing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a bandeau bra stay up without straps?
It stays up on band tension, so the fit at the ribcage is what holds it, not the bust. Choose by cup size using the chart rather than sizing up for comfort, because a loose band is the single reason a bandeau slides. If you are between cup sizes, take the smaller band.
Can you take the padding out of this bandeau bra?
Yes. Two foam cups sit in an inner pocket with an opening at the underarm side. Pull them out for a flat, natural shape, or leave them in for shaping and coverage. Take them out before washing so they keep their form.
Is this a strapless bra or a sports bra?
Both, within limits. The high-stretch knit and wide band make it fine for yoga, pilates, stretching and walking. It has no encapsulation and no adjustable band, so for running or anything high impact you want a proper sports bra with straps.
Will it show under a tight top?
No. There is no seam through the cup, no wire and no hook, and the top and bottom edges are cut flat instead of hemmed. That flat edge is what stops the ridge you get from a standard strapless bra under a fitted top.
What size bandeau bra should I order?
Go by cup size. S fits 32A to 32C and 30D, M fits 34A to 34C and 32D, L fits 36A to 36C and 34D, XL fits 38A to 38C and 36D. If you normally wear a 34B, take M. Do not order by your bust measurement in centimetres, because the band is measured flat and stretches well past that figure.
Does it work for a larger bust?
Up to a D cup on the sizes offered, so 30D through 36D. Above that the band will not hold. A bandeau with no wire and no adjustable closure relies entirely on compression, so if you need lift rather than coverage this is not the right style.
Can I wear it on its own as a top?
Yes, that is how it is shown in most of the photographs. The knit is opaque and the band is deep enough to work as a crop under an open shirt or with high-waisted leggings. The pale colours, ivory and pink, are worth checking in daylight first.
How do I stop a bandeau bra from rolling down?
Rolling is a band-size problem, not a fabric one. If the band rolls at the bottom edge it is too loose and you should size down. If it digs in it is too tight. The band should sit level and you should be able to slide two fingers under it, no more.
